Windows memory management is rocket science. And don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise.
Since Windows 7 was released last October I’ve read lots of articles about the right and wrong way to measure and manage the physical memory on your system. Much of it is well-meaning but just wrong.

The 1394 bus driver was rewritten for Windows 7 to provide support for higher speeds and alternative media, as defined in the IEEE-1394b specification. The 1394 bus driver that is included with Windows 7 replaces the 1394 bus drivers that were included with earlier versions of Windows. This paper provides information about the differences between the new 1394 bus driver implementation and the earlier implementation, as well as information about the new functionality that is included in the 1394 bus driver for Windows 7.

If the security is set to default there is created a virtual store for each user.
The location of the virtual store is default:
The INI file goes to the “virtual store” on windows-7
- c:\users\<username>\Appdata\local\Virtual Store\Program Files\
You need adminstrator rights to access this store.
This might be where your lost files and directories reside.

Running Scorpion under Windows 7 raises some issues that needs to be handled. People experience that they cannot
- copy images to scorpion folder
- save images
- scorpion profile is not persistence
All of this has to do with the default security settings for Windows 7. By default the user has only read and execute rights to the program files folder files. Scorpion normally places images and profiles in these folders.
Fix to get Scorpion run like XP and Vista
The fix is to set Full Control right to the program files\tordivel as folder. You need to have adminstrator rights to do this.
Administrator right to shortcut can be useful.
